How much does a small-business website cost in Bulgaria in 2026?

"How much is a website?" is the first question almost every small business asks us, and the honest answer is a range that only makes sense once you know what moves it. This guide is for clinics, salons, law and accounting offices, car services, restaurants and guest houses in Bulgaria that need a clear, fast site that brings calls and bookings. It explains what you pay for once, what you pay for every year, what quietly makes a project more expensive, and how to compare offers that look nothing alike. At the end you will find our own published prices, so you have at least one fixed point to compare against.

#What you actually pay for

A small-business website is not one product. It is a bundle of work, and offers differ mostly in which parts of the bundle they include:

  • Structure and design. How many pages, how they link together, and whether the design is built from a ready theme or drawn from scratch. A custom design takes more hours; a well-chosen theme with your colours, photos and logo is enough for most small businesses.
  • Content. Texts, photos, prices and opening hours. Content is the most underestimated part of every project. If you write the texts yourself, budget your own time; if the studio writes them, it is a separate line in the offer.
  • Functions. A contact form, click to call, a map, a booking link, a second language. Each is small on its own; together they decide whether visitors become customers.
  • Technical basics. HTTPS, speed on a phone, basic SEO, privacy and cookie texts, and an admin panel where you can edit texts yourself.
  • Hand-over. Training, written instructions, and who owns the domain and the accounts afterwards.

When two offers differ by a factor of three, the cheaper one usually leaves out content, training or the technical basics, and the more expensive one usually includes a custom design or functions you may not need.

#One-time costs and yearly costs

The price of building the site is a one-time cost. Several things are paid every year, and a fair offer lists them separately so you can see the total cost of owning the site:

  • Domain. A .bg or .com domain is renewed every year with a registrar. Domains ending in .bg are managed by the registry Register.BG. Register the domain in your company's name, not the developer's; our article on domain names explains the details.
  • Hosting. The server where the site lives. For a small site, well-configured shared hosting is usually enough; see shared hosting or a VPS.
  • Paid licences. Premium themes, plugins or booking systems often renew yearly. Buy them in your own name, so they stay yours.
  • Care. Updates, backups and monitoring. A website that nobody updates slowly becomes slow and insecure; we explain what care includes in WordPress maintenance: what it includes and what it costs.

#What makes a website more expensive

These are the decisions that move the price the most, roughly in order:

  1. Selling online. A shop with a cart, payments, couriers and Ordinance H-18 is a different project from a presentation site. If you need one, read what an online shop with Econt and Speedy needs.
  2. A second language. Every page exists twice, menus and forms are translated, and search engines need to know which version is which.
  3. Writing the texts. Good copy takes time: interviewing you, writing, and correcting.
  4. Many pages. A page per service is good for search, but each page needs content and layout.
  5. Integrations. Booking systems, CRMs, ERPs or online payments add setup and testing.
  6. A custom design. Worth it for some brands; for most local businesses, speed and clarity matter more than originality.

#Prices are in euro now

Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026. The obligation to show prices both in leva and in euro applied from 8 August 2025 to 8 August 2026, so offers you receive today should be in euro. If you still have old prices in leva on your site, in a price list PDF or in an image, updating them is a small but real job: count it when you plan the new site.

Also ask whether VAT is included. A studio registered for VAT adds 20% to its price for a Bulgarian company; one that is not registered does not charge VAT at all. Compare offers on the amount you will actually pay.

#How to compare offers

Ask every studio to answer the same questions in writing, then compare the answers side by side:

  • How many pages and languages are included, and what does one more of each cost?
  • Who writes the texts, and who provides the photos?
  • Can I edit texts and photos myself, without paying each time?
  • What speed on a phone do you promise, and will I see the measurement?
  • Whose name are the domain, hosting and licences registered in?
  • What is not included, and what will I pay every year?
  • How is payment split, and when does the site go live?

We collected these and a few more into 10 questions to ask before you choose a web studio.

#Our prices, as an example

Our business website package starts at €590. It includes up to 6 pages in one language, designed for phones first, an admin panel where you edit texts and photos yourself, HTTPS, a contact form with spam protection, click to call, a map and opening hours, a booking link or a simple request form, basic SEO, privacy and cookie notice templates for your lawyer to approve, a PageSpeed mobile target of 85 or more with the report, and 30 minutes of online training. The published extras are: a second language +€150, an extra page +€45, and copywriting €40 a page. For a site in Bulgarian and English, add the second language to the package price.

The work takes 2 to 3 weeks after we receive the content, and payment is 50% on order and 50% at hand-over, before the site goes live. Domain, hosting and paid third-party licences are not in the price and stay in your name. PN Scripts is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. After launch you can choose monthly care at €39 or €79 a month, and if you already have a site that only needs repair, the site rescue and speed fix costs €190 for sites up to 10 pages. All packages are listed on our services page.

#Frequently asked questions

Is a cheaper website a false saving?

Not necessarily. A cheap site built on a good theme, fast on a phone and registered in your name can serve a small business for years. It becomes a false saving when the low price hides missing content, no training, or a domain registered to someone else.

Do I need a custom design?

Most local businesses do not. Visitors want your phone number, address, prices and opening hours quickly. A clean theme with your own photos and brand colours does that well.

What do I pay after the site is live?

The domain and hosting every year, any paid licences, and care if you choose it. Ask for these costs in writing before you sign, so the first year holds no surprises.

Can I see where my current site stands before I decide?

Yes. Our free website check gives you a one-page report within 2 working days: mobile speed, HTTPS, the layout on a phone, outdated software, a test of your contact form, and three concrete fixes with the price of each.
